A fiduciary can be very helpful in paying bills, managing personal affairs, overseeing property, or managing assets. The Professional Fiduciary Association of California (pfac-pro.org) has useful information on its website about what a fiduciary can do. In California, a “professional fiduciary” is licensed by the Professional Fiduciaries Bureau with the California Department of Consumer Affairs. You can search by city/county/zip on the California Licensed Professional Fiduciaries website, search by county on the PFAC website, get recommendations from local senior centers, or estate planning attorneys. Here’s a short list of fiduciaries whom local support group members have recommended in Northern and Central California.
