“Her mother seemed to have classic dementia. Or did she?”

This is a good article about the symptoms of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH).  Often, NPH is misdiagnosed as progressive supranuclear palsy or Lewy body dementia!

In this case, the sufferer’s cognitive symptoms improved immediately after brain suergery.

“Finding Joy in My Father’s Death” (NYT, 2-27-15)

Thanks to local support group member Don for forwarding this article to me.

I’m not sure I like the title of this opinion piece in last Friday’s New York Times but much of the daughter’s reaction to her father’s death (with PSP) resonates with1 me.  The daughter is Ann Patchett, an American novelist.
